Q. Why do I have to pay to post a job(s) to HireEd.net?
HireEd.net charges employers a small fee for posting jobs. This allows us to offer the service free to job candidates, thus increasing the pool of candidates you will find on HireEd.net. The fee for posting an ad for one month on HireEd.net is less expensive than most single ads in newspapers, and HireEd.net can help you reach more candidates because of widespread web access. With each posting, you receive free manual searching of the candidate database for one month as well as one free automatic search agent. And we offer bulk posting discounts. (See the pricing pages--Purchase a Package--for details.)

Q. What is a search agent?
HireEd.net's automatic search agent allows you to key in candidate characteristics you are looking for and to have HireEd.net automatically search the resume database on a regular basis (daily, weekly, monthly) and send information about qualified candidates directly to you via e-mail.

Q. How long will my job be posted?
All jobs are posted for 1 month. You will be notified via e-mail 2 weeks before your posting expires so that you can resubmit it for an additional month without having to re-key in any information (see pricing page for more info).

Q. What is a cookie? Must I accept them to use HireEd.net?
HireEd.net relies on cookies to operate. In simple terms, a cookie is a tiny file a web site writes to a computer's hard drive that contains information users need each time they visit the site (such as passwords and user IDS). Cookies make it so users don't have to input the information each time they visit the site.
If your computer is not set up to accept cookies, you will get the message that you have been timed out and have to log in again each time you go from one page to another on HireEd.net because HireEd.net will not be able to find your registration information.
Setting up a computer to accept cookies is different for each browser, so if you are not sure whether your computer is set up to accept them, contact your Internet service provider. The cookie setting is found under Internet Options or Preferences. You will need to accept all cookies. And be sure not to select "Warn me before accepting cookies" or you will have to press OK to accept them each time you change pages on HireEd.net and on other web sites.

Q. I keep getting a message that I have been Timed Out of HireEd.net. What can I do to avoid this?
Most Timed Out messages occur for one of two reasons. First, if you are at a single HireEd.net web page (or any other web site's page for that matter) for more than 20 minutes without interacting with the site, the site will think you have walked away from your computer and will log you out. To avoid this, be sure not to stay "parked" on one page for more than 19 minutes (Of course, 15 is easier to remember, so you might want to use that as your benchmark). You can always leave a page and return immediately to it using your browser's Back button.
You might also get a Timed Out message if your computer does not accept cookies. See "What is a cookie?" in this FAQ.
